As we have learned, absolutely no progress has been made despite all the efforts to put Haiti on the path of growth. Due to the current state of insecurity, the international community is now unable to enter the country.
Everything has been shut down. Parents are unable to pay for their children's basic education; missionaries are afraid to come to help; and young people are incapable of attending school. The private sector and the government are corrupt, and the nation suffers the consequences due to the scarcity of their necessary needs to survive. Even the churches are affected by set conditions and unable to minister to the communities, yet ministries, education, and discipleship are crucial to bring sustainability to the undeveloped nation.
vision: A new Haiti vision is to care, disciple, and develop.
Our strategy is to train and disciple the next generation of youth. The plan is to plant churches and schools in many communities as a means to bring children, youth, and adults to a place where they may be trained and discipled about the sustainability of life.
The school is located in the Figaro Second Section of Gros Mornes, a community of 20,000 inhabitants with only two other schools nearby and no running water or electricity. The first school has grades up to fifth. Our school is expanding; each year, we add one new class. We'll have 35 extra kids and the fifth grade this year. Last year, we had 120 children. We began the first year with 56 kids, two kindergartens, and a special first grade with kids starting school for the first time at ages 8, 9, and 10.They are currently in fifth grade. I appreciate all of your help.
The Yvrose Ismael-led mission in Fond Paris includes our church plan. She began following the 2010 earthquake, which claimed the lives of 250.000 people. She began a school halfway house with numerous kids, including six who were between the ages of 6 and 10. Currently, 600 students in kindergarten through the 12th grade attend the school. Nine youngsters from the institutions took the government exam last year, and all nine of them passed. I joined the ministry eight years later to assist with a church plan. Since then, we have served 175 kids and teens and some parents have joined our church. We are growing in numbers and maturity. also because every year several children, youth, and adults get baptized. We have done many weddings as well as discipled them. Those who were living together with no marriage commitment were married.
